About this Work
Japanese Irises in Bloom
A one-of-a-kind hand-painted fused glass serving set, drawn from the elegance of Japanese irises in early summer.
One elongated platter with two matching small plates.
Each iris is painted by hand in soft pink, lavender and blue. The ground, layered in deep green and gold,
brings to mind a quiet Japanese garden at dusk.
Every piece is hand-painted and kiln-fired in Japan, one of a kind.
It works as tableware,
and equally as a piece of Japanese glass art.
For appetisers, sweets or something seasonal,
or simply displayed.
A set that carries early summer in Japan.

Hand-Painted Fused Glass Long Platter with Two Small Plates
One of a Kind / Hand-Painted / Fused Glass / Made in Japan
A delicate, radiant piece, painted by hand with care one at a time.
Fired more than seven times over,
it is finished slowly, little by little.
The painted areas meet the standards of the Food Sanitation Act,
and the surface is further coated with clear, colourless glass.
In normal use there is no concern of the painting coming away. Use it as a plate,
or display it in a room, where its brilliance looks lovely.
