I work mainly on flower vases and sake ware, formed on the wheel or built by hand.
Right now I am putting particular effort into the "Reki" series. Working on each piece — tea bowls, sake ware and more — with time and care, I aim to express the many faces and the possibilities that Bizen ware holds.
Facing the clay and the flame, I treasure the natural landscapes that only Bizen ware produces. My wish is not only to carry the tradition forward, but to make pieces that can be enjoyed in everyday life today.
In 2025 I was certified as a Traditional Craftsman of Bizen ware.

About this Work
The tomaya, a hut thatched with reeds, has been loved since ancient times as a symbol of wabi-sabi. The best known lines are these, by Fujiwara no Teika: "I look out, and there are no blossoms, no autumn leaves — a reed hut by the shore, an evening in autumn."
Burning incense in it will lift the ordinary business of the day into something closer to the sacred.
