Matsumitsuyama Pottery is located in Ohi, Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Our studio is nestled in a small town right by the Sea of Japan.
Building upon the tradition of Hagi ware, we lightly incorporate modern sensibilities to create new vessels.
From their colors, shapes, and patterns,
to their textures, warmth, and ease of use,
Matsumitsuyama's vessels are made for the food they hold.

About this Work
縦の筋を刻む「しのぎ」の飯碗。削った溝に釉がたまり、濃淡のラインが浮かび上がります。
色は、白い化粧土にほのかな紫がにじむ「粉引紫」です。
筋の凹凸が指にかかり、手なじみも心地よい一碗です。
紫の濃淡の出方に、一点ずつ大きな個体差があります。
使い込むほど貫入に色がなじみ、風合いが変わっていく「萩の七化け」もお楽しみください。
