小田原で作陶される陶芸家「鈴木 隆」は、美しく輝きを放つ、「海のように澄み渡る、唯一無二のブルーの器」を作陶する作家です。
柑橘の名産地・小田原で「みかん農家」に生まれ育った鈴木さんは、35歳の時に独学で作陶を学び始め、そこから20年以上にわたり挑戦を続けてきた中で、独自のスタイルを見つけ、ご自身を象徴するみかんの灰を使った「みかん灰釉」の美しい器を生み出しました。
みかんの栽培、みかん灰・釉薬作り、作陶に至るまで、すべてをご自身の手で完結させる、全国的にも非常に稀有な作り手です。みかん灰がもたらすのは、果実のようにあたたかく、小田原の海のように澄み渡る、唯一無二のブルー。木を育て、土に触れ、炎と向き合い、作品を生み出す。すべてが一本の線でつながった制作が、「鈴木 隆」さんを象徴します。
他のシリーズである貫入が眩く輝く「青瓷」「白瓷」の作品は、青・白の美しい色合いと、作品ごとに異なる割れ方をする貫入が合わさった、まさに一点ものの表現が美しい作品です。使うたびに貫入は少しずつ表情を変え、時間とともに育っていく。そして、使うだけでなく、家に一つあるだけで空間を照らし、眺めるだけでも楽しめる“輝く器”です。

About this Work
"Hakuji Katakuchi" is a katakuchi (spouted bowl) made of "Hakuji" (white porcelain), created after thoroughly researching everything from glaze composition to clay mixture in pursuit of pale white beauty.
Takashi Suzuki's "Hakuji" works have a unique expression, like marble, imbued with depth and luster, quietly shining as they catch the light.
On the surface of the vessel, crazing (kannyu) appears during the firing process.
The way the flame hits, the composition of the clay, the thickness of the glaze—all these conditions combine, and no two patterns of crazing are exactly alike, with each vessel depicting a unique landscape.
The delicate lines of the cracks change expression depending on the angle of the light, giving the vessel a quiet sense of movement.
From the first use, the crazing gradually takes on color through daily use, completing its transformation into a "growing vessel" that develops its character over time.
