About this Work
Shimizu Yayoi's Coffee Dripper (Small) is a yakishime coffee dripper with a sweet, flower-like scalloped shape. A spiral groove is carved inside, helping the water flow while showing a beautiful pattern each time you pour. This one is a deep dark brown, with a reddish-purple tint toward the rim, giving it a calm presence. There are three holes in the bottom, and the flower-shaped base sits steadily on a mug or server. At about 10.5 cm across, it is a compact size just right for one or two cups, and makes hand-drip coffee on your own all the richer. Unglazed yakishime pottery settles into a soft, moist-looking surface the more it is used, and its character deepens over time.
