In Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture,
I inherited the will of my predecessors
and am pursuing my beloved pottery,
aiming to create works that inspire and move many people.
I hope to bring pieces into your lives
that can accompany you during special alone time,
or during precious moments with loved ones,
and that can truly resonate with your heart.

About this Work
This vase, a product of Kasama's unique metallic glaze, features a slender form reminiscent of industrial parts, accented by a "screw" resembling a rusted bolt. It vividly showcases the contrast between the rustic quality of clay and the sheen of metal. The roughly fired base captures the very essence of the earth's texture, while a deep, bronze-toned metallic glaze flows along the neck, creating depth that changes expression with the angle of light.
Whether holding a single blossom or dried flowers, the moment it cradles a bloom, it becomes an objet d'art that anchors the space, exuding a timeless presence. Its form, where inorganic and organic intersect, symbolizes the theme of "metal born from earth."
