I create pottery that makes the most of Shigaraki clay's texture, resulting in dynamic forms that are unforgettable once seen. My goal is to make cool-looking dishes for use when dining with friends. They are characterized by a deep, mysterious blue, where the blue glaze catches the light to create delicate gradations, spreading a beauty that resembles a natural lake or sky captured within the piece. These dishes offer both practicality and beauty, meant to be admired and used.

About this Work
This is a pedestal plate that harmonizes the dignified presence brought by the elevated base with gentle roundness. The flat, expansive top surface beautifully showcases sweets, fruits, appetizers, and more, as if arranging them on a stage. Slight variations in the glaze and reflections of light add depth to the entire piece.
It is a simple yet sculpturally impactful piece.
