Suzu-Gesho Rice Bowl No.2 — Okinawa

A rice bowl finished with "suzu-gesho", a treatment unique to Seiho Kiln, in which "suzu-ishi" — an unusual natural mineral found on Iriomote Island — is worked into the clay.
It is marked by a moist, smooth clay texture and a settled character with real depth. There is a weight and warmth that sits right in the palm the moment you pick it up, bringing a quiet ease to the daily table.
Its refined bearing, warm as earthenware yet composed, sets off freshly cooked white rice, and equally brown rice or rice cooked with other ingredients.
