About this Work
The clay is carved mark by mark to raise a texture like the growth rings of a tree. It looks like wood, yet it has the weight of pottery in the hand, and that gap is part of the fun. For sencha or hojicha. The grain appears differently on every piece.
Because each is handmade, the shape, colouring and flow of the glaze vary from piece to piece. Please enjoy them as the character of each work.
