焼き締めとは、釉薬を使用せず、炭と作品をサヤ鉢と言う鉢に入れて高温で焼き締めるという技法です。 焼き上がりの色味は、淡いベージュやグレーのグラデーションが反映されたものや、白と黒のコントラストが鮮やかなもの等、多種多様です。 同じ模様や色味がない世界に一つだけのうつわです。自然の力を最大限に引き出す技法によって生まれる、見れば見るほど味わい深い表情の"うつわ"です。使い込むほどにその美しさが増し、暮らしに寄り添う一品として長く愛用できます。
しっとりとした質感が特徴ですが、日常使いの"うつわ"としても特別な場面でも活躍します。

About this Work
These pieces are created using the "carbonized yakishime" technique, where the work and charcoal are placed together in a sSAYA-bachi (a protective saggar) and fired at high temperatures without glaze.
This method produces unique shades with a complex blend of white, beige, and gray, along with a profound, ink-wash painting-like appearance, allowing you to enjoy the contrast between white and black.
