私の作品は、すべて一点物です。
私の工房が、産地の窯元でもなければスタッフが揃うスタジオでもないことから、“ただ単に同じ形の作品が大量に生産できないだけでは？”と思われる方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。これまで陶芸一色だった私の人生で、強い想いが湧き出たのは思いのほか最近のことです。
「普段使いでありつつ、どこかに力強さやはなやかさが見える作品づくりをしたい」
師事する本橋勤が亡くなった2年後に独立。人間国宝である田村耕一が唯一とった弟子である本橋の言葉を折に触れて反芻していると、思いがけず自分の作陶スタイルがあることに気付きました。それは、練り出す生地の雰囲気によって筆の入れ方を変える工夫をして描いていること。そして、型にはまらないようデザインを統一していないこと。
轆轤・絵付・施釉・焼成、全ての工程を１人で行う私の作品が、世の中に二つとして同じものが無いというのは、必然なのかもしれません。
