Shallow Rim Bowl, Manganese — Okinawa

From "nakamurakenoshigoto", which makes pottery in Nanjo, Okinawa, comes the "rim bowl (shallow), manganese", carrying a quiet weight and a composed dignity.
A manganese glaze with a texture recalling bronze, black or an antique metal piece, showing a complex expression as the light changes. A broadly made, beautiful rim combines with a shallow depth to produce a chic, grown-up table setting.
The faintly deep form comes into its own with pasta or risotto with sauce, a spiced curry, or a salad of warm vegetables. The wide rim plays the part of a picture frame, bringing out the vivid colours of the ingredients and showing them beautifully.
