Paterna Goat Plate, 4-sun — Okinawa

A piece by "Atelier Gokoya", which works from the traditional Okinawan "yachimun" technique to draw a plain, warm world of its own on Taketomi Island.
The "Paterna motif series" takes its inspiration from the designs of "Paterna", a medieval Spanish earthenware. The expression of the goat, drawn in a distinctively deep iron pigment, is somehow endearing and comical, and softens the heart every time you look at it.
The easy 4-sun size (approx. 12cm) works as an individual plate, of course, and equally for a small side dish, pickles, or a sweet to go with tea. It adds a reassuring handmade warmth and a point of interest to the daily table.
