About this Work

"Mogake Vase" is a flower vase crafted using traditional Tokoname ware techniques. Its distinctive patterns, created by wrapping seaweed around the vase and firing it, make it unique. When flowers are arranged in it, the contrast between the vessel and the flowers is beautifully highlighted. Its simple yet impactful design enhances any space.

No two patterns created by the seaweed wrapping and firing process are ever the same, making each piece one of a kind.

This vase naturally brings an atmosphere of wabi-sabi into your interior.

1982年古くから急須の産地として知られる愛知県常滑生まれ。家業も製陶業。2010年県立常滑高校のセラミックアーツ科を卒業。2014 年大同大学では焼きものから離れで建築を学ぶ。いったん就職するもすぐに焼きもの世界に戻る。2017年とこなめ陶の森陶芸研究所修了。同時に、家業とは別に急須など茶道具作家として独立

常滑焼の伝統を大切にしながらも、現代的な感覚を加えた洗練されたデザインが特徴です。手に取った瞬間、その軽さと茶漉しの精緻さに驚かされます。軽く、薄く仕上げられた急須は、驚くほどのフィット感を提供し、手に馴染むその感触は、まるで自分の手の延長のように感じられます。

常滑焼は、その赤土と透過性の高い釉薬で知られています。この常滑の赤土を活かし、土から生まれる温かみを大切にしています。その土を使い、手に取ったときに心からリラックスできるような温もりを感じる急須を作陶しています。土本来の素朴な風合いと、焼き上げた後に見える柔らかな質感が、使う人を包み込みます。
