About this Work

This sake cup has a dent, making it easy to hold.
The foot is low, and the slight distortion gives it a perfect fit.
While it can be used as a sake cup, it can also be used for small delicacies, tsukudani, and other dishes, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Please give it a try.
Size: Approximately 7 cm in diameter x 4.5 cm
The price is for one item.

Artisan Story

I am committed to using glazes made from Karatsu clay and natural ash, and I create pieces that emphasize the inherent character of the clay, valuing natural and spontaneous expressions.

"Utsuwa no Yukue (Where the Potteries Go towards in Japanese)" was the title of a solo exhibition I held previously. I wanted to focus on the "vessel" as a singular, formed object, rather than simply creating under the general category of "vessels."
As a theme for my work, I made this phrase my brand name.

1996: Built a kiln at home and began creating.
Currently, I continue to make pottery in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
