Artisan Story

Sojiro Gama is an Arita-ware pottery studio located in Arita-cho, Saga Prefecture, committed to the traditions of Arita ware and handmade craftsmanship. I am Shinji Ogushi, the second-generation potter, and together with my father, we create each piece by hand using a potter's wheel and adorn them with delicate and profound hand-painted sometsuke designs. Our concept is to craft vessels that bring a touch of luxury to the dining table. We also produce artworks such as large plates and jars, maximizing the skills of our artisans.
